A month or so ago, I got a wild hair and decided to once and for all organize my sewing room. I bought wire cube shelves, emptied bins of fabric, folded, sorted, purged, put all notions in one area, cleared off my sewing table, cleared off my sideboard and…vacuumed.  It felt wonderful. It looked fantastic (okay, not as great as if could have and in all honestly, I wasn’t quite finished with the project when January orders came flooding in. Not a bad problem to have but alas, it was the beginning of the end of my newly almost completely organized room.)

Want to see pictures?

Our dining room is my sewing room/office. It opens to the kitchen and immediately to the right of our front entrance.  I tried to keep most of my fabrics, shelving and bins in the front corner of the room. You walk by the room and can see our china cabinet, large computer desk, side board and my sewing table but you don’t notice how much is actually there unless you stick there head in and crane your neck around to check it all out (or, you can open the baby gate and walk in, I suppose, but the baby gate is a fantastic adult deterrent as well. ;) )

Oh, sorry, the pictures! And here we go…my craft space.

This picture was taken from the kitchen doorway – you can see everything. Huh. Not quite as tidy as I had remembered. Well, you can only imagine what it looked like before if I thought this was cleaned up. ;)

The good wire cube grids I bought at Target for all of $14.98.  I love them!

More bins of fabric, fabric scraps, fleece, chenille, Insulbrite, interfacing, flannels, etc…

The tall shelving unit holds all my notions and other supplies. I wish it were a litle deeper but it does the job.

Maybe one of these days I’ll get around to really cleaning up my sewing room and I can show you pictures from all angles and you will ooo and ahhhh because it will look like something out of Martha Stewart’s magazine. Umm, or not. Regardless, isn’t it fun peeking into someone else’s craft space?

lol…love seeing others sewing rooms than I do not feel so bad! Mine is a little better but then I have a whole room that is dedicated to sewing and I do not think I have that much fabric!! You are a brave lady sharing…

I love it. It looks like a real workspace. I’m so jealous you have all that space!
