lose_itMy husband told me about the Lose It! app after he found out my sister in law was using it and after he uploaded it for himself to see what all the fuss was about. Lose It! is a user friendly calorie counter for your iPhone or iTouch. And it is …awesome.  You input your age, weight, height, gender and then your goal weight and how fast you want to lose weight (as little as 1/2 pound a week, as much as 2 pounds a week). Lose It! calculates the total daily calories you should be consuming to  meet your goals and you do the rest. You input calories consumed through out the day. Lose It! does have a menu of foods to search from, including some restaurant items and name brand grocery items. And for those items that it does not have, you can manually input the information. They even have a recipe builder – just put in all ingredients and how many servings the recipe makes and Lose It! calculates calories per serving. (It’s very easy, I input a Chicken & Rice recipe with 10 different ingredients.) In 1 week, I lost 4 pounds and I know that it is because I had an easy way to track everything I was eating, right at my finger tips.  You can also track your exercise, just tell the app what you have been doing and they’ll let you know how many calories you burned off – sweet!
