I’m really excited about my reusable lunch box sets that I started listing in my shop a couple of weeks ago. Since the introduction, the focus of my shop has been all the new dresses I have been making so the spotlight and shine was taken away from these wonderful new items.  Today only, Friday the 26th of February, I would like to offer everyone a chance to purchase my lunch box sets, reusable sandwich bags or reusable snack bags at a discounted price!

The lunch box sets are eco friendly, earth conscious and all around cool and stylish! Each set comes with a 6 1/2″ by 6 1/2″ sandwich bag with a 1″ gusset (depth), a 6″ by 4″ snack bag and a coordinating cloth napkin! I have a couple children’s collections and a few that are more grown up. Today only, collections are $12 – a $3 discount! Sandwich bags are $6 and snack bags are $4.50. Use the code FrayBabyFridayFun in Notes to Seller to get your discount and start lunching in style – eco friendly style that is! Shop now!

One of the things I love about Etsy is the Pounce feature. You can “pounce” (pull up) shops that either just had a sale OR that are still waiting for their first sale.  When I have a free moment, I like to pounce on Etsy to see what cool things I can find and I have found some really beautiful items.  Let’s see what I can undiscovered treasures I can find…

Oooo, a cool PacMan decal for your Macbook! Too cool!

Too cool! Get a sign made from Barbara O’Boyle’s photo alphabet art! I wonder what my name would look like.

VERY cool photo.

Beautiful notecard set

Happy Fat Tuesday! My mom ordered a King Cake for me when I was in college and I have loved them ever since, but must admit that I have not gotten one in many years. This year I went on a hunt for the most delicious looking King Cake and found Manny Randazzo’s Bakery out of New Orleans. Mmmmm, delicious! The price tag may seem a little hefty but it does include overnight shipping and getting a yearly King Cake is a fun tradition to get into.  And don’t worry if you bite into a little plastic baby! That is the “prize” of the King Cake and whoever gets the baby gets to supply next year’s cake.  To learn more about the history of the King Cake, visit Manny Randazzo’s web site. To learn more about the history of Mardi Gras, visit Mardi Gras New Orleans page for tons of fun information.

I happened upon this today and I love it. I want to blow it up and print it out to hang in my home somewhere to remind myself of all the things that I can do to become more eco conscious.  My favorites – #5 – Recycle glass, #10 – Use 1 less paper napkin, #25 – Batch errands, #38 – Give it Away, and #40 – Plastic Bags Suck!  The ones that will prove most difficult for me – #2 – Turn off computers at night and #3 – Don’t rinse.  And the ones that I need constant reminders of – #16 – Brush without running and #26 – Turn off Lights. Check it out and spread the word!

One of my favorite sites to visit and one of my favorite emails to receive is National Geographics, The Green Guide…to Go!  Today’s email is full of fantastic articles.  Sustainable Seduction is about the most eco friendly fair trade chocolates you can buy, eco friendly flowers and a wine buying guide.  Green Myths is the truth about recycling, natural cleaners, and plastics.  And this Month’s Highlights is all about Plastics A-B-Cs, Ideas for Kids and Your Guide to Green(ish) Gadgets.  I can get lost in this website for hours. Head on over to The Green Guide and sign up to receive their Green Guide to Go! It’s a monthly newsletter full of fanastic articles.  I just finished reading Greenwashing: Avoiding the Eco Hype and Better Basics for Your Baby’s Room. And 20 Last Minute FUNctional Gifts is an oldie, but a goodie. Who knew there were green iTouch apps? I’m going to upload them to my iTouch right now! Head on over and check them out for yourself.

A month or so ago, I got a wild hair and decided to once and for all organize my sewing room. I bought wire cube shelves, emptied bins of fabric, folded, sorted, purged, put all notions in one area, cleared off my sewing table, cleared off my sideboard and…vacuumed.  It felt wonderful. It looked fantastic (okay, not as great as if could have and in all honestly, I wasn’t quite finished with the project when January orders came flooding in. Not a bad problem to have but alas, it was the beginning of the end of my newly almost completely organized room.)

Want to see pictures?

Our dining room is my sewing room/office. It opens to the kitchen and immediately to the right of our front entrance.  I tried to keep most of my fabrics, shelving and bins in the front corner of the room. You walk by the room and can see our china cabinet, large computer desk, side board and my sewing table but you don’t notice how much is actually there unless you stick there head in and crane your neck around to check it all out (or, you can open the baby gate and walk in, I suppose, but the baby gate is a fantastic adult deterrent as well. ;) )

Oh, sorry, the pictures! And here we go…my craft space.

This picture was taken from the kitchen doorway – you can see everything. Huh. Not quite as tidy as I had remembered. Well, you can only imagine what it looked like before if I thought this was cleaned up. ;)

The good wire cube grids I bought at Target for all of $14.98.  I love them!

More bins of fabric, fabric scraps, fleece, chenille, Insulbrite, interfacing, flannels, etc…

The tall shelving unit holds all my notions and other supplies. I wish it were a litle deeper but it does the job.

Maybe one of these days I’ll get around to really cleaning up my sewing room and I can show you pictures from all angles and you will ooo and ahhhh because it will look like something out of Martha Stewart’s magazine. Umm, or not. Regardless, isn’t it fun peeking into someone else’s craft space?
